Hi Dr. Spelman,
I am worried about the saftey of all of those who have dedicated their life to the mountain gorillas. I pray for peace every day. Can you please let us know if the caretakers and gorillas at the orphanage in Goma made it out safely?

Sheryl is right, please do whatever you can to save the orphans and their caregivers. Can they be taken to Rwanda before all out hell breaks loose?

I've been worried about the orphans in Goma and their caregivers, too. Frankly, I want them out of there by any means possible. Those babies survived hell and it's not right for them to lose their security and end up for sale in a market somewhere or murdered.

IMO, you need a plan to get people and apes out of Goma if the situation deteriorates.

Hi Dr. Lucy, Thanks for giving us your take on the situation there. It is a very scary situation, that is for sure. My heart goes out to the people there, your staff and of course the orphans.

p.s. I wish I would have known you were here in L.A., I would have come to your book signing. : ) I hope it went well!
