Thank you so much for all the info and beautiful photos. Ndakasi and Kabila look wonderful but they still seem so fragile. I'd love to see them in a safer environment.

Dr. Spelman, Thank you for a wonderful, informative post. I hope the yogurt works for the babies. They look great despite their gut problems. They are such beautiful little creatures. Thank you for giving them a fighting chance. The Grauer's gorilla is very beautiful and it's such a shame that their numbers are so small. I hope they can be restored somehow. Lisa

It's interesting how some of us are skeptical of moving animals to wild sanctuaries instead of keeping them in some sort of captivity. I often feel the same way, especially after reading blog post after blog post about poaching, charcoal burning, rampant deforestation, bamboo flowering, etc. But, as we can all read Dr. Lucy's reports, the babies would be better off in a natural, wild environment than living in a backyard in a busy town near a war zone. I think moving them to Rwanda will be the best thing for them, but I hope someday they can return to DRC and find their families.

Thanks for the information on the Grauer's gorillas. Please keep us posted about them and their families, and thank you so much for the update and photos about Ndakasi/Kabila and Nedeze. They've grown!

Oh my, some good news and some bad news all the way around -- the logging sickens me-if the gorillas can be relocated unless security is good then they may be poached and killed as in the Virunga Park-I hope this project has funding for keeping them safe - they are distinct looking for sure and the two babies just unbelievable I am so happy they have made it so far as so many of us have followed their story!
